Ferryhopper is an online booking engine that makes island-hopping around Greece as easy as a breeze. Our modern and innovative platform presents the user with every available direct and indirect connection to over 160 Greek islands and major ports. Through Ferryhopper, the traveller can plan their ferry trip effortlessly, book their tickets quickly, compare prices instantly, secure the cheapest fare, and start hopping!

Our website is hosted in the cloud, but we have several systems that are down to earth needing support, care, and constant improvement.

We are looking for an IT specialist who will support and upgrade Ferryhopper operational tools and office infrastructure. In fact, we are searching for a tech-savvy person that will be responsible for administering office networks/computers, setting up automations and building tools for testing/data extraction. We value people who enjoy spotting opportunities and providing solutions even in non-well-defined problems.

Job requirements

Main responsibilities are:

  • Installation and management of key hardware devices, including Servers, PCs, multi-function devices, switches, mobile devices, VoIP telephones, and various peripheral equipment.
  • Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems for office users
  • Establish and support office automations
  • Setup tools and build scripts for web automations
  • Support data analytics tools



If we would try to decode the job description to some bullets of requirements, these would be:

  • University degree (AEI or TEI) on Computer Science/Engineering or Information Technology
  • High familiarity with both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Excellent understanding of TCP/IP Networks
  • Good scripting skills in Python, PowerShell & bash
  • Good administrator skills for GSuite, Office 365, Active Directory
  • Willingness to learn and build new systems and setups

Adding to the previous, it would be nice to have

  • Good HTML/CSS skills
  • Basic knowledge of the AWS ecosystem (mainly S3 and EC2)
  • Basic knowledge of the Google Data Studio or Kibana analytics tool
  • Familiarity with UI test automation platforms and tooling; such as Selenium
